Simpson Desert 29th september
We felt your telepatic asking of news from the desert and here we are.
Few minutes ago we had the last sat contact with Carla. All is going well: she is walking more or less 17
k's every day and had made 140 k's. The only real problem are the feet that in any case is solving. To improve the situation Carla is making feet-washing with sand.
The weather in the last three days has been cooler with the max temperature that reached no more than 35° C. According to the local forecast this particular situation will last no more that seven/ten days. In order to get advantage from this
situation Carla has decided to make more k's up to 20 per day. During today's walk she met (luckly without
shaking hands) a little brown snake that according to Don evaluation it was a poisonous one but not letal.
In this area and in this prt of the year the fauna consist in dingos (wild dogs),small colourfull lizards and thousands of annoying flies.
As said all is proceeding smootly and the last words from Carla in the last sat call can easly make you
understand the situation"....I am get in touch with the desert and it seems that this three days of cool
weather are as a sort of welcome gift from the Simson..."
Beside this brave walker thru desert there are three other not so brave guy's that are trying to make everything (walking apart) going smootly. Please also thing about them. They will appreciate.
As usal stay tuned.
