PEACE FOR AFRICA

April 2008- Carla Perrotti has completed the historic solitary crossing of the Lybian Desert in the area of Akakus Tadraf and has gained an important result, pushing herself into the heart of one of the most fascinating deserts. For the first time a woman has be able to cross this magical place alone on foot and has left her imprint in the sand of Akakus in the name of Peace for Africa. For one week she walked in the desert with the richest story in the world. Many new surprises were waiting for her, like ancient inscriptions on the rocks and remains of monolithic structures: it was a unique experience, exceeding all expectations. Carla has said that the temperature reached 45 degrees Celsius and at times it seemed almost impossible to breathe, but thanks to the constant support of her team lead by Franco Nava and her previous experience in the larger deserts of the world, she was in a position to surpass every difficulty and concentrate on the new objective. Also, the organization of the Lybian team was exceptional, thanks to Nadia Murabet of Vision Media for creating this project and for helping Carla to complete it.
The five deserts she has crossed, together with this one in Lybia, the sixth, are now bound with an invisible and imaginary thread and the divine dream of Carla is that this imaginary thread brings unity between the people and races, with a strong message of peace, in particular to Africa and our whole wonderful planet.
